Who we are

Udaya Public School, Panchkosi Parikarm Marg, Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh 224001 (CBSE Affiliation No. 2130443), runs www.udayapublicschool.edu.in. Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 we are the Data Fiduciary for the information described here: we decide why and how it is used.

This page covers cookies and similar technologies on our website. How we handle admission, student and parent records is explained in our privacy policy.

02 / 13

What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file a website saves in your browser so it can recognise your device on a later visit. “Similar technologies” are tags and pixels: small pieces of code that send information about your visit to a provider such as Google or Meta. We use “cookies” on this page to mean all of these.

03 / 13

Information collected through cookies

Depending on the choices you make, cookies can collect:

  • Essential only: your cookie choices and a session identifier that keeps forms and the admission fee checkout secure.
  • If you allow analytics: your IP address (shortened by Google before storage), browser and device type, screen size, approximate location (city level), the pages you view, how long you stay, the site that sent you here, and a random identifier for your browser.
  • If you allow marketing: the identifiers above, plus whether you arrived by clicking one of our adverts and whether you then sent an enquiry or started an application.

Cookies do not collect your name, phone number or the details you type into our forms.

04 / 13

Why we use cookies

Every cookie belongs to one of three categories. Essential cookies are always on; the other two are off until you allow them.

Essential

Always on

To make the website work securely and to remember the cookie choice you made. The site cannot work without them, so we don’t ask for consent.

Analytics

Off until you allow

To count visits and see which pages are useful, so we can improve the site. We look at totals, not at individual visitors.

Marketing

Off until you allow

To measure whether our admissions adverts on Google and Meta lead to enquiries, so we spend the school’s budget well.

Cookies we use

Durations are the defaults set by each provider and may change. We review this list every 6 months.

Children

Students use our website as well as parents. We do not use cookies to track children, to monitor their behaviour, or to show them targeted advertising. Our adverts are aimed at parents and guardians.

Under the law, consent for a child under 18 must come from a parent or lawful guardian. If you are under 18, please leave optional cookies switched off, or ask a parent to choose for you.

07 / 13

Your choices

  • Nothing optional runs until you choose. On your first visit, analytics and marketing cookies are off. They switch on only if you select “Accept all” or turn them on in “Manage my preferences”. Technically, we use Google Consent Mode v2 in its basic mode: every optional signal starts as denied and our tags load only after you grant it.
  • Change or withdraw your consent at any time, as easily as you gave it: select “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page, or go to our cookie settings page and select “Withdraw all consent”. Optional cookies stop from that moment and are deleted from your browser (_ga, _ga_*, _gcl_au, _fbp and _fbc). Withdrawing does not affect what was collected while your consent was on. To have that deleted as well, send a request from the same page.
  • Saying no costs you nothing. Every page, form and service on the site works the same with optional cookies off.
  • We ask again every 12 months, or sooner if we add a new kind of cookie. Your choice is stored in the ups_consent cookie together with the version of this policy you saw.
  • Browser settings. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser. If you block essential cookies, some parts of the site may not work.

Videos and maps

Some pages show YouTube videos or a Google Map. These come from Google, which sets its own cookies once they load. They stay as a placeholder until you select “Play video” or “Show map”, and only then is information sent to Google. Google's handling of that information is described in its own privacy policy.

09 / 13

Who receives the data, and where

  • Google (Analytics, Ads, Tag Manager, YouTube, Maps), only for the categories you allow.
  • Meta Platforms (Facebook, Instagram), only if you allow marketing cookies.
  • Zoho (Zoho Payments), only while you pay a fee online — its checkout runs in a frame that sets its own cookies on Zoho's domain.

These providers may process the information on servers outside India, including in the United States. We do not sell your information, and we do not share cookie data with anyone else.

10 / 13

How long we keep it

  • Cookies stay in your browser for the durations in section 5, unless you delete them sooner.
  • Google Analytics keeps detailed visit data for 2months and the data linked to your browser's identifier for 14 months, then deletes it automatically. The 14 months restart if you visit again. After that we see only totals, such as visits per month, which do not identify anyone.
  • Google Ads and Meta keep advert-measurement data under their own retention policies. If we create an advertising audience from website visits, a visitor is removed from it after 30 days (Google Ads) or 30 days (Meta) without a new visit.
  • Your consent record (a random cookie ID in the form UPS-7F3A-91C2, the choice, the date, where you made it and the version of this policy) is kept for 3 years, so we can show that consent was given. It holds no name or contact details. You can see your ID at cookie settings.
  • Requests you send us under section 11, and our replies, are kept for 3 years and then deleted.
11 / 13

Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can:

  • ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you and who we have shared it with;
  • ask us to correct, complete, update or erase it;
  • withdraw your consent at any time (see section 7);
  • nominate someone to act for you if you die or cannot act yourself;
  • raise a grievance with us, and if you are not satisfied, complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

Because cookies use random identifiers rather than names, the easiest way is the request form on our cookie settings page, which fills in your cookie ID for you. You can also email us with that ID. We reply to every request and grievance within 30 days. A request sent by email is confirmed by a link that expires after 7 days.
