Families move. A parent is transferred, a household shifts city, a child changes schools for reasons that have nothing to do with the school they are leaving. When that happens, one piece of paper does most of the work: the transfer certificate.
It is a small document with a large job. It records that a child studied here, up to which class, and that they left in good standing — and no school will complete an admission without it. Here is how to get one from us, and how the school your child is joining can check that it is genuine.
Requesting a Transfer Certificate
Ask at the school office. We will need to bring the child's records up to date and settle any outstanding dues before the certificate can be issued, which is the main reason a TC takes days rather than minutes.
The practical advice we would give every family is the same: ask in the week you make the decision, not the week the new school's admission window closes. Records take time to compile, the office is busiest at exactly the moments most families are moving, and a certificate requested in a hurry is the one most likely to arrive after you needed it.

If You Have Lost Yours
This happens more often than you would think, particularly with families returning to collect documents years later for a university admission or a job application.
We can issue a duplicate. It will be clearly marked as a duplicate — that is standard practice everywhere and not a mark against anyone — and the institution receiving it will treat it as valid. Get in touch with the office with as much detail as you can remember: the child's name, the years they attended, and the admission number if you still have it anywhere.
Verifying a Udaya Transfer Certificate
In accordance with CBSE guidelines we issue an authenticated transfer certificate, signed by the head of the school. We have gone one step further and put verification online, so that any institution can confirm a certificate in under a minute without telephoning us.
Our Transfer Certificate verification portal works like this:
- Look up — enter the admission number and the date of birth. The system queries our live student database.
- Match — a record is released only when both the admission number and the date of birth match exactly.
- Print — a verified record displays the complete certificate, formatted so it can be printed for the receiving school's files.
A successful verification confirms that the certificate was legitimately issued by this school. That is sufficient for admission purposes, and it needs no call to our office, no email thread, and no waiting for term to resume.
We would encourage other schools in the region to do the same. Forged transfer certificates are a real problem, and verification that depends on someone answering an office phone during working hours is not really verification at all.
One Thing Worth Checking Before You Commit
If your child is partway through Class 10 or Class 12, speak to the school they are joining before you give notice anywhere. Admission into those two years is restricted, and a move that seems straightforward in September can turn out not to be permitted at all.
