New Swimming Pool at Udaya Public School, Ready by August

The new swimming pool at Udaya Public School, Ayodhya

Some things a school builds quickly; others wait for their moment. A swimming pool has been part of Udaya Public School's campus plan since 2020 — families who have read our prospectus over the years may remember the area marked out for it, waiting for the right time. This year, everything aligned. Construction began over the summer vacation, and the pool is expected to be fully built, tested, and ready for use by the end of August.

For our school community in Ayodhya, this is more than a construction update. It is a long-planned widening of what a school day can hold.

Why Swimming, and Why Now

Physical education sits at the centre of how we think about development, not at its edge. Swimming in particular asks something of the whole child: cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, coordination, and the quiet discipline of technique practised until it becomes natural. For growing children it is also a reliable reset — regular exercise helps students clear their minds, manage stress, and return to their studies with sharper focus.

That is why the pool stayed on the plan through six years of other priorities, and why it was worth waiting to build it properly rather than quickly.

Swimming as a Subject, Not a Spectacle

Once the pool is operational, students will be able to pick swimming as a hobby subject — a structured choice within the school week, alongside everything else we offer beyond academics. Every session will run under the direction and supervision of our trained sports coaches, with safety and proper technique as the starting point rather than an afterthought.

For students who want a steadier path into the water, we plan to run dedicated morning and evening classes, so different schedules and learning paces each find their place.

What Happens Next

As the completion date in late August approaches, we will share the practical details with parents — timings, batch sizes, and how to register. Families with questions in the meantime are welcome to reach the school office.

We look forward to the first morning a class walks out to the water — and to aquatic sport becoming an ordinary, well-loved part of a Udaya education.
